Suddenly - Difficulty with many files

It's been working OK. Just updated K-lite full and now VTM refuses most files. I must have altered something.

Log starts with [INFO] [2:00:57 AM] Program started
[DEBUG] [2:00:57 AM] .... Can't register codecs

Clearly something has changed. I can get thumbnails via Media Classic Player but not VTM.

Maybe more specifically it's MP4 and flv files that are at issue. They all used to work.

All players VLC, MPC, WMP are fine.

Have you tried to reinstall VTM?

Re-installing VTM version 5 worked but is much slower. Re-installing ver 9.1.1 got same result. Failure on MP4 and flv. This time log shows Engine 2 DxPlay function failed. Still failed to load codecs.

Reinstalled again. Get error on trying with an MP4:

entry point_wfopen_s could not be found in dll msvcrt.dll.

My WinXP shows msvcrt.dll ver 7.0.2600.5512 which used to work.

By now you should have mail with two sample vids and another mail with two runs of process explorer. The second email was copied to your second gmail address along with your regular address. The first one might have been marked as spam since it contained no message just the attachments.
