Feature Request: Update the video used for the Preview
Posted: 13 Feb 2024, 20:42
When looking at the preview generated in Options >> Preview, the current video used to generate the preview for each frame is outdated. I would like to see it replaced with something more modern.
The current video has a 4:3 aspect ratio. Very few videos today are 4:3. They are much more likely to be 16:9 or ~21:9. This doesn't give a good representation of what the layout will normally look like after generating a screenlist.
The current video is very dark overall. This makes it difficult to adjust the timestamp overlay's shadow found on each frame. A video with a more balanced luminance would make it easier to adjust the timestamp overlay.
The current 4:3 video used for the preview may have been chosen to find a middle ground between wide landscape videos and tall portrait videos. In this case, having separate previews to test portrait and landscape videos would be a good alternative.
Right now, I personally end up generating a screenlist for a landscape video and a portrait video I have to test out my settings. Having a more robust way of previewing my setting inside the application would be great.
