Data Loss/Corruption

Hello,
I've spent many hours over the last couple days adding tags, artists, sites and thousands of videos into my database. I thought I'd give the Pickup Known Tags, Artists, and Sites a try as I had added many since importing some videos. As advised by the warning dialog, I attempted to backup the databases. Maybe this is where I went wrong. I went to Save As and saved a new copy of the database. I left the name mostly the same, I just added "backup" before the .db3. That save took a decent amount of time and the result was that I am now missing all the tags/artists/sites and thousands of videos. Both the original DB file, vdb.dbs and my backup, vdb.dbs seem to have the same amount of data, roughly 550 videos with their thumbnails. I assume I am screwed, but vdb.dbs is only 628KB while vdb.dbs is 2.5MB. The data in Videonizer seems identical between the two, so I am hoping my data still exists in the backup, maybe just corrupted? Any advice you could give would be helpful.
