Can't open older database

I just purchased a new copy of Videonizer (v. 10.1.0.0) and installed it on a new computer. When I try to open a database I created using v. 9.1.0.0, I get a prompt asking me to enter the db password. This was not a protected db, so I was not able to open the db. I tried going back to the old computer and adding a password, but when I try to use that password to open the db in the newer version, it doesn't work (the password prompt just re-displays).
Is there any way to open the old db in the new version?
