I want to set a specific time-step (say 20 seconds) for thumbs of videos of different lengths and to have all thumbs placed into one image

So, I want just the All-thumbs - not and a following Multi-files after it - however, but when I check "Multi-files for 'Specific Timestep'" ON, I get both the All-thumbs version (may contain 5 to 500 thumbs depending on size of video) *and* Multi-files as per the grid chosen.

On the other hand, when I check "Multi-files for 'Specific Timestep'" OFF, I do not the get the All-thumbs version.

I just want the All-thumbs version (a single JPG at a set interval) - how do I achieve that?

In other words, you do not want all these multi-files, because you have to delete them manually. Am I right?

I can create an setting for that.

Yes. To be clear, allow me to illlustrate an example:

I have a 10 minute (600 second) video and a fixed layout of 24 thumbs ....

If select the Multi-step option of say 20 seconds (ie, 600/20 = 30 thumbs) and the Multi-files for "Specific Time Step" ON, I currently get:
  • Image with All Thumbs spaced every 20 seconds
  • Image with First 24 spaced every 20 seconds "multi01"
  • Image with Next 6 spaced every 20 seconds "multi02"
However, when I run a rip with the Multi-step option of say 20 seconds again and the Multi-files for "Specific Time Step" OFF, I currently get:
  • Image with First 24 spaced every 20 seconds ONLY - ie, the last six are lost
However, what I need is that when the number of thumbs on an image spaced in 20 seconds segments exceeds 24 images, what I want is just:
  • Image with All Thumbs spaced every 20 seconds
So maybe, what is needed instead of the current Multi-files for "Specific Time Step" is to present a radio button choice:
  • O - When number of thumbs exceeds layout make one single layout (only)
  • O - When number of thumbs exceeds layout make Multi-files (only)
I hope this makes sense.

VTM 15.0.0.0 is released.
"Extend Matrix" checkbox is added to "Advanced Timeline Control" window. Enable it to let VTM add additional rows to your matrix when the "Specific Timestep" exceeds the matrix.
"MultiFiles" checkbox now depends on the new "Extend Matrix" option. Disable the "MultiFiles" checkbox to get the main screenlist only. Enable it to get "MultiFiles" also.

Thank you for that, however the option I would like is: Multifiles only without the Extended Matrix file.

Is it possible to select Multifiles ON with Extended Matrix OFF?
