I'm looking for a function to detect the videos aspect ratio and choose a tile layout based on it. As in, vertical video(9:16): tile layout 5X tiles, 1Y tiles. Horizontal(16:9) 3X tiles 2Y tiles for example.
Currently using Everything search engine to filter aspect ratios, but a implementation would be helpful and a great addition to any already great program imo
Aspect ratio filter (Automatic Layout selection)
Hello, i have exacly the same problem. I use a 21:9 Monitor (3440x1440p)
@ 4:3 (older) videos aspect ratio i use a tile layout 8X and 4Y
@ 16:9 videos aspect ratio i use a tile layout 6X and 4Y
but when i use it for example @ 9:16 (like Youtube Shorts,Tik Tok....) i get smaller thumbnails like almost total square.
@ 9:16 videos aspect ratio i use instead a tile layout 8X(or 9X) and 2Y
At the moment I'm creating thumbnails in 6X and 4Y of a folder's contents and then looking at the results with "Irfan View" (Picture Viewer) and deleting all 9:16 images and create thumbnails in the same folder again in 8X2Y without overwriting the existing (16:9) ones. The whole process becomes quite time-consuming over time.
And thanks for the "Everything" search engine tip, maybe it helps me out and speed my job a little bit up.
