Hi,
I only have one top folder as a scan folder, with "Rescan folders recursively" set to ON.
I have added some folder/files with videos under this top folder and selected DB Tools - Rescan for Videos and Pictures. It runs for a while, but ends up adding 0 items to videos.
Even if I add one of the new subfolders as a new scan folder, it still does not import any new videos.
Any thoughts?

Thanks

Hi,

- Which version of Videonizer do you use?
- Please make sure the file type extension is enabled in the Videonizer Settings (File Types to Support).

Version 11.3.0.1.
It is enabled.
Further notes: I tried running the rescan several times in a row.
First run:
0 videos added
96 files ignored
11 pictures added
No warnings
Second run:
0 videos
96 ignored
0 pictures
3rd run:
0 videos
90 ignored
0 pictures
4th run:
0 videos
111 files ignored
0 pictures
5th run:
0 videos
106 files ignored
0 pics
----
after about 10 runs, I got one video file added successfully - without any changes in the folder structure, just by repeatedly running the rescan.
Thoughts?

Are these folders are on an external hard drive or on a local HDD/SDD?

They are on external USB drive, the database as well. I scanned the drive in Windows- no errors.

I think the issue is with Windows mapped drives.
They may become "not available" after reboot or some idle time.
I have fixed similar issue for the Folder Browser before.

To check this idea, please click the "Add Video Folder" button before using the "DB Tools" -> "Rescan for Videos and Pictures".
In that case the Windows mapped drives should be initialized properly and the issue should gone for some time.

Did not seem to help.
I also tried creating a brand new database (on a local ssd) and importing the same external folder. It ended up importing 91 videos on first try. The old db has 3230 items. Subsequent tries added a couple (5 videos, 2402 pics then 7 videos 65 pics etc...).
Interestingly, when I look at the scan progress (x of y), the X number always gets past the Y number. The Y number also varies at each scan.

What if you add the folder by selecting it manually in your last example?
Will it add all necessary files or the result it the same as via Rescan feature.

Hmmm - not sure what you mean by adding it manually in this context.
In the last step, I created a new database, so I had to add the folder first - there was nothing to rescan in the new db.

I meant to check - will it be a difference between rescanning a folder and adding it using "Add Video Folders" button.

Lets say there is folder H:\Videos with 5 video files inside and an empty DB.
Scenario 1: Add a Watch Folder H:\Videos, then use the "DB Tools" -> "Rescan...".
Scenario 2: Use the "Add Video Folders" button.
