I've moved my database from a PC to a laptop. The path is exactly the same - D:\Media\ and everything seems to be working, except for the thumbnails.

I see an "error" on every thumbnail and when I try to regenerate, I get an SQL error "no such table: CACHE:thumbnail". I've tried to clear the cache in the settings area too, but no luck.

Is there a way to move the cache or wipe it to regenerate?

Thanks!

Hello,

please try to follow the steps:
1) Set "Cache thumbnails in Multimedia View" OFF in Settings (F2).
2) Migrate your main database file.
3) After that you can set "Cache thumbnails in Multimedia View" ON in Settings if you want.

Please let me know about results.

Thanks for your reply. I ended up starting a new database, but I will certainly try this method if required in the future.

Hi Scorp,

i have exactly the same issue after moving the database to a new computer.

I tried disabling the cache (after that thumbnails are correctly generated on the fly), but am kinda lost on the "2) Migrate your main database file." part.
After enabling the caching the issue persists.

Can you point me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance,

Hi clayt0n,

1) You can see the "Error" thumbnail for an Item because screenlist or photo path which was used to generate the thumbnail on another PC is missing.

For instance, if you have an Item and it has a Screenlist at "D:\My Folder\MyScreenlist.vtx".
After you move the DB to another PC (without moving that "D:\My Folder\MyScreenlist.vtx" file as well), Videonizer will display the "Error" thumbnail for that Item, because the screenlist file is missing on the new PC.
Videonizer stores links to files.

2) Videonizer checks for the thumbnail file existence before checking the cache.

3) The cache file is located in the
c:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Videonizer\
Cache filename starts with the name of your DB.

Please try Videonizer 11.1.0.0.
Cache should not be a problem in a new location.
