Dark Thumbnails

I have 3 programs on my pc (including VTM) which allow me to grab frames and make video thumbnails. All 3 of these produce a very dark image. Any idea what the mechanism is for doing this? Is it associated with the OS Default video player? What does VTM use to produce these thumbs and can the luminence be boosted as the frames are captured? I can post-process, but that really isn't a fix.
Any ideas?

Hi,
do you have dark video in video players as well?
It sounds like some setting in your codecs changed.
Try to find setting panel for your codec pack (btw which one are you using?),
and check for somthing like contrast or brightness.

How do I post a screenshot of the 77 video codecs I've installed on my pc? and what do I do now?

Usually there is an option like "Reset all settings to defaults" in codec-pack control panel.
Could you give it a try?
