With some vertical videos (tall and narrow), the thumbnails are rotated 90 degrees. The attached screencap images show the image in the VLC player, and the thumbnails. Is there a way to rotate the thumbnails?

It looks like VLC player rotared the video. I think the original is not rotated.
Could you please share the file or try to open that video in MPC or some other video player?

Well, the VLC player doesn't rotate all vertical videos. Evidently the video file contains a rotation descriptor. I know jpegs have a rotation descriptor, for example.
Does Video Thumbnail Maker attempt to use the rotation descriptor, or does it ignore it? If it ignores the descriptor, could it be made to pay attention to it, perhaps on an option? (I suggest an option, because some users might like the current behavior.)

I can do that for pictures, but I never knew it can be done for video.
I will have a look. Thanks.

Could you please share an example of a clip with rotation (to test)?

Unfortunately, I thought you would find the reason for the video rotation obvious, so I didn't save the file. :( But I did try that file with Windows Media Player and Real Player, and they also displayed the video vertically. I've seen the same behavior in the past with other videos, but only now decided to ask about it. I don't currently have anything that shows the difference in rotation.
Next time I run into the problem, I'll save the video and post it.

Ok. I have already implemented support of video rotation. I just need more files to test.
