Re: .NET Framework woes.

The problem with narrowing this down is, i suspect, is VTM never actually crashes... it's just slower with the embedded codecs than with the system codecs... by a lot.

Re: .NET Framework woes.

Application: VideoThumbnailsMaker.exe So, no more error entries in Event Viewer for that app? None at all as far as i can see.... I'm going back and looking at the 28th which is when VTM worked (unexpectedly) to see if there's something in there that mentions VYM but if it is it isn't mentioned by ...

Re: .NET Framework woes.

The same error. 1) When are you getting it? After starting a file in VTM? 2) Are there any other types of errors in event viewer? 1)I can't find any errors related to VTM in Event Viewer, the only ones i can find are related to .NET because i suspect that's where the issue is. 2) There are many but...

Re: .NET Framework woes.

You can choose any format, I will have a look. I must admit usually there could be errors in event viewer even when everyhing is ok on PC. In that case i'll just post the oldest one using the copy function from Event Viewer and paste it right here... If you need the rest of them, please just ask. <...

Re: .NET Framework woes.

Also I would like to advice you to check Windows event viewer for possible Windows or software errors. Please have a look: https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/226084-event-viewer-open-use-windows-7-a.html I'll have a look at those VM's later (probably tomorrow now). Your suggestion for checking o...

Re: .NET Framework woes.

I just tried installing Windows Virtual PC (KB958559) but when i try to install Windows 7 on the virtual drive it stops after loading files with an error message telling me my CPU isn't compatible with 64bit operating systems, interesting, as I'm running the 64bit version of Win7 Pro and the process...

Re: .NET Framework woes.

I've tried that, clean booting was one of the first things i tried yesterday when the problem resurfaced... i still have no idea why it broke because i thought i'd got it sorted when VTM started to fly again... but something keeps breaking and no amount of reinstalling/removing .NET or VTM will get ...

Re: .NET Framework woes.

I've never used or been interested in a 'virtual machine', so no.

I'd be surprised if my security software list was the cause but I'm open to anything.

When you ask about running VTM in a safe environment, how would i do that?

Re: .NET Framework woes.

I forgot to mention that i run Windows 7 Professional 64 bit. In any case i give up, despite hours or removing and re-installing various versions of .NET Framework and re-installing VTM i simply cannot get VTM working as i know it should (the VTM YouTube video is exactly how works, when it works)......
